Frequently Asked Questions
  • Which method(s) do you use?

I use a variety of methods, spanning from extremely “gentle” to more “direct” (high parental involvement vs. low parental involvement). All are safe and effective, and all have been tested by families who are probably sleeping right now.

I usually introduce each family to a couple of different methods and help you choose which one is best-suited to you, your kiddo’s personality and your parenting style.

If you don’t like the one we pick initially, we’ll switch it up mid-process.

  • How does the one-on-one process work?

It starts with you reaching out and saying you need help!

In most cases, we’ll hop on the phone for a Discovery Call. Once I know more about your situation, I’ll have a better idea of what you might need to move forward. If your issue can be solved with some quick advice during our call, I’ll let you know, and send you on your way with some tips to get on track.

If one-on-one support seems warranted for your situation, I’ll recommend one or two package options that would be right for you. If you decide to move forward, we’ll get the ball rolling with some paperwork.

The process for the full support packages begins with an intake form, followed by an hour-long video consultation. This can usually be scheduled within a couple of days of our Discovery Call, but occasionally there’s a longer wait.

I try to send your fully-customized sleep plan within about day of our call. I write the plans so they’re useful for months or years into the future. If you ever hit a snag down the road, a ‘reset’ is usually pretty simple.

Once you have your plan, we’ll work together for a period of time (either one, two or three weeks, depending on which package you go with). This includes daily emails, twice-weekly calls, and a daily sleep log.

The follow up support doesn’t begin until you start using your sleep plan, So it’s okay to reach out and have your consultation a little before you’re ready to actually get started.

At the end of your support period, you’ll receive a wrap-up package, with loads of tips about navigating your child’s sleep in the future.

  • What's the difference between downloading the guides and working one-on-one?

The one-on-one process is different from the downloadable guides in several ways—the most obvious being, of course, the customization.

When we work together, factors such as your parenting style, family size and dynamic, child(ren)’s personality, sleeping environments and more can be taken into account. Your sleep plan is written FOR your family, after our consultation.

The follow-up support ensures you’re able to receive the guidance you need to stay committed to the process and make changes as necessary to ensure you’re always comfortable with your plan. This isn’t possible with the guides, which are generic.

  • When does the follow-up support begin?

Your follow-up support begins the night you start your sleep plan, and ends one, two or three weeks from your start date.

  • I'm not sure if I'm ready.

I totally understand that the timing isn’t always right, and I think it’s important that parents contact me once they feel ready.

That said… I’m not sure that anyone ever feels 100% “ready.” There are always hesitations.

I was once in the exact position you’re in right now: scouring the internet trying to find out how I could help my kids sleep better, and wondering if I wanted to actually shell out the money to hire a sleep consultant. I get it. It’s hard. For me, it was a life-changing experience.

If you’re ready for your family to start sleeping now (or even if you’re still unsure), let’s connect.

  • Will this help my child to sleep through the night?

As long as you’re committed, yes. This means being sure we’re working together to make a plan that you’re comfortable with. Your child can only feel safe if you do, so it’s crucial that we pick a method you’re comfortable with.

  • How is this different from reading a book or working with a different company?

I’m certified by the Family Sleep Institute (the pioneer in sleep consultant training), and The Early Years CBCP (a leader in child behaviour).

I only use methods that are proven to be safe, effective, and rooted in LOVE and RESPECT for your child(ren) and every member of your household.

Rather than simply telling you what to do, I help you understand why we’re doing it. A unique holistic approach ensures we’re addressing the root cause of the issue, and gives you the confidence you need to support your child through this time in their life.
